Super Aramid Carbon (SADC) table tennis blades explained

High-Restitution Composite • Inner Placement

Super Aramid Carbon appears on exactly one Loki blade — a denser aramid weave built for mid-distance power loopers who find standard ADC too soft.

In one line — Super Aramid Carbon (SADC) tightens the aramid-carbon weave used on standard ADC blades, retaining the vibration dampening while raising stiffness for players who load the blade from further off the table.
Material physics

What ‘Super’ changes versus standard Aramid Carbon

Standard Aramid Carbon is built around a comparatively open weave, which is what gives it its plush, shock-absorbing dwell. Super Aramid Carbon increases fibre density in the same inner position, which stiffens the composite layer without moving it — the blade still sits soft and controllable on short touches, but resists collapsing under a full-body loop drive the way a lower-density weave can.

It is a niche, single-SKU fibre in the current range specifically because that trade-off only pays off for a narrow group of players: those already generating serious racket-head speed from 2–3 metres back who find the standard ADC blade below flexes more than they want under load.

Common questions

Why does Loki only offer Super Aramid Carbon on one blade?

It is a specialist, denser variant of standard Aramid Carbon aimed at a narrow group of committed power loopers, not a general-purpose upgrade — most players are better served by the standard ADC blades, which is where Loki concentrates the range.

Is Super Aramid Carbon better than standard Aramid Carbon?

Neither is objectively better — SADC trades some of ADC’s forgiving dwell for extra stiffness under heavy loading. A player who mostly plays close to the table will usually prefer the standard ADC blade; one generating power from further back may prefer SADC.

Is the W81 Wei Shihao SADC legal for Table Tennis England and ITTF events?

Yes. It keeps 5 full wood plies either side of the 2 thin composite plies, meeting the ITTF construction rule for legal blades.
