Who Yuan Licen Is

Yuan Licen (袁励岑) was born on 28 May 2000 in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, China. Starting table tennis at six to improve his childhood fitness, he progressed rapidly into the Liaoning provincial team by age nine. He took the singles title at the 2015 National Junior Championships to earn selection into the National Youth Team, followed by team gold at the 2016 Hong Kong Junior Open.
In March 2022, Yuan fought through to the men’s singles final of the WTT Contender Doha. In July 2026, partnered with Wen Ruibo, he achieved a career milestone by capturing the men’s doubles title at the prestigious WTT Grand Smash USA in an all-Chinese final, cementing his international credentials at the highest competitive level.
