Common questions
What table tennis bat should a beginner buy?
Start with an all-wood or inner-fibre blade and two medium rubbers, which forgive mistimed strokes while your technique develops. Our beginner club setup pairs the Kirin K3 blade with Rxton 1 Max on both sides, at £41.97 for the complete bat.
Should I choose tacky or tensor rubber?
Tacky, Chinese-style rubber grips the ball for heavy spin and a lower arc, and suits players who brush the ball hard. Tensor rubber is springier and gives more speed from shorter strokes. Many players use tacky on the forehand and tensor on the backhand; our guide to tacky vs tensor rubber explains the difference in detail.
Are the recommended setups tournament legal?
Yes. Every Loki rubber is ITTF approved and every Loki blade is built to the ITTF construction rules, so a bat made from them with one red and one black side is legal for Table Tennis England leagues and tournaments.
How does the setup finder choose products?
The tap picker matches your answers to one of our five curated setups. The question box searches the live Loki range using the manufacturer’s specifications and pairing guidance, and its written answers are produced with Google’s Gemini AI. Prices and stock are always read live, but check the product page before you buy.
